Web Design Mistakes

Frames

Frames are used to divide the browser into sub-windows. Normally Frames are there to help the websurfer navigate easily but at times it confuses the surfer. From search engines optimizations point view also frames does not help.

Under Construction

Never put a Website on the internet unless it is complete there should be no pages with under construction sign as it is bound to have negative effect on the entire website.

Graphics

Never Use too many graphics on any webpage as graphics take long time to download and hence some impatient visitors might not wait for your graphics to load and leave the sie.

Fonts

Using the right type of fonts is very important the text written should be visible to the user easily and should also look good hence extreme care has to taken when chossing the fonts for your website.

Backgrounds

The background of your website is very important. Always use contrasting colors for the background and the text. If a light text color is used on a light background, it will be hard to read, as dark text on a dark background will be hard to read as well.

Animation

If you have too many moving objects on your website like graphics and text it is bound to distract the visitor hence should be avoided.

Orphan Pages

All web pages should include a clear indication of what site they belong to, because some users may access the minor pages indirectly without coming through the main home page. For the same reason, every page on a web site should have a link returning to its home page.

Easy Navigation

The navigation on your website should be easy and the visitor should be able to go from one webpage to another related page easily.

Unique Content

The content of your website should be unique and different from other websites. It should not contain the same information as the other sites do because if you have unique content it will help you increase traffic to your website.

Link Problems

When creating documents, links should be meaningful and readable. The text of links should flow well within the context of the rest of the text, and the text should be able to stand alone as a printable document. Oftentimes designers either make full lines of text link-able or use click-here statements to navigate the web visitor. Instead, keywords should be highlighted and link-able within the text.
